Annette O'Toole spent her childhood in the Houston studio which was operated by mother. Her first appearance on television came at the age of 2 when she was a child in the Don Mahoney Kiddie Trooper Show. Her mother and she with ten years of singing and dancing lessons in her repertoire, travelled into Los Angeles a full year at the age of 13 to see if she would be capable of making a living in showbiz. In just two short months she landed her first paid job, performing in the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. "I've utilized my dancing and singing lessons in so many ways," she says. The discipline you get from these classes is invaluable for actors." O'Toole's debut acting gig was in My Three Sons, followed by roles in Gunsmoke, The Partridge Family, The Mod Squad, and Hawaii Five-O. The most important thing that O'Toole loves, in spite of her film and television success, is theatre. When her six-year run on Smallville ended, she decided to pursue theater as her primary focus, which is what she's done for the last ten years. Following her move from New York, she had her first performance as a seagull in The Sea Gull. She has appeared in a variety of off-Broadway productions, such as Adam Rapp's Kindness and Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska.
